Waterproofing Sealers and other Specialty Products from Aquaseal USA

"From the foundation up... Aquaseal has you covered"

waterproofing protection sheet Aqua-Wrap - an economical alternative to drainage/protection board, a 6mil, clear, four-layer polyethylene sheet with a diamond polyester scrim imbedded in the center. Aqua-Wrap is extremely tear and puncture resistant and is installed over our waterproofing membranes where it bonds with the waterproofing material to protect it from being punctured by rocky backfill material.

Aqua-Wrap provides excellent protection for ICF foundations as it bridges any large joins in the forms and prevents them from being damaged by aggressive backfilling. The product also serves as an air/vapor barrier with a permeability rating of 0.13 perms and gives an additional layer of waterproof protection as it has 32psi hydrostatic resistance.

At less than half the cost of most drainage or protection boards, Aqua-Wrap comes in easy to install rolls measuring 6' x 100' and is ideal for all areas that require a lightweight but highly tear resistant protective wrap.

soil sheet drain Aqua-Board 200 is a two-part prefabricated soil sheet drain consisting of a formed polystyrene core covered with an attached geotechnical filter fabric on the dimple side of the core. This fabric prevents backfill material from clogging the drain channels and allows water to pass into the drain core and flow to designated drainage exits. It provides an extra layer of protection for foundations located in areas with a high water table, poor soil conditions, or occasional flooding.

Prefabricated plastic soil drain
A replacement for aggregate drainage

  • Widest product range
  • Fastest delivery
  • Lowest prices
  • Proper subsurface drainage, vital to many civil engineering designs, requires that the soil particles be held in place while the water flows freely out of the soil by gravity. Aggregate drains, with or without pipes, have been used since Roman times. However, clogging due to soil infiltration and/or subsidence from soil removal have been common problems.Cardboard and paper prefabricated drains, designed to overcome these problems with aggregate drainage, were used as early as 1948. Advances in geotextile filter fabrics in the early 1970's led to successful polymer solutions to prefabricated drain design.
  • Modern prefabricated drains consist of two components - 1) a geotextile filter fabric which allows easy water entry while retaining soil particles and 2) a plastic drain core which acts as a collector and transporter of the water. Most cores are single sided, although some are two sided or punched to allow water entry from both sides. Typical core thickness is 1/4 - 1"(6-25mm).  A thin, high strength polymeric film may be added to the back of the core to prevent soft water-proofing membranes from extruding into the back of the core cones.  Polypropylene, polystyrene or polyester materials are used for good resistance to normally-occurring soil materials. Special fabrics and core materials may be specified if additional chemical resistance is required.
  •  Prefabricated drains are usually grouped into five catagories:

    Sheet drain
    Strip drain
    Vertical (wick) drain
    Highway edge drain
    Combination drain

Sheet drain is used where large surface areas require drainage. Vertical applications include basement walls and retaining walls. Horizontal applications include plaza decks and roof gardens. The entire surface area is usually covered with drain. Sheet drains are typically made in 4'(1.2m) wide sheets in rolls 50-100'(16-33m) long. The core is usually 1/4 - 1/2"(6-12mm) thick. Most sheet drains also serve as protection for waterproofing material, thereby eliminating the cost of a separate protection board.

  • Strip drain is used where full area coverage is not necessary or practical. Typical applications are golf courses, athletic fields, and residential yards. Strip drains are made in 4-36"(100-1000mm) widths in rolls 50-500'(16-150m) long. The core is usually 1"(25mm) thick.  Highway edge drain, another special purpose strip drain, is used for highway edge drainage. Typical widths are 12-36"(300-1000mm). Thickness is usually 1"(25mm). Rolls are usually 500'(150m) long.
  • Vertical drain is a special purpose strip drain used for consolidation of soft, compressible soils. The drain is usually 4"(100mm) wide, 1/8-1/4"(3-6mm) thick, and made in 1000'(300m) rolls. Vertical drains are also called wick drains, band drains, or PVD drains.
  • Combination drain is made by combining regular strip drain with a high flow strip drain section.  The combination drain may be used alone or as the bottom section with normal sheet drain.  Combination drain is usually 24" (600mm wide).

Low Installed Cost - Combined installation and material cost is usually less than half that for aggregate drains.
Easy To Handle And Install - Lightweight, easy-to-handle prefabricated drain is placed easily and quickly. No heavy equipment or skilled laborers are required. Inexpensive to store and transport.
High Flow Capacity, No Clogging - Structure of core provides multiple channels for vertical and horizontal water flow. Filter fabric permits high volume entry of water into core while restraining soil particles.
Strong And Durable - Crush strength of core resists damage during installation or at greater soil depths. High tear and puncture strength of fabric insures no damage during backfilling or use.
Simple Inspection - Easy visual inspection of material and installation is possible.
Chemically Resistant - Both core and fabric are resistant to all naturally-occurring soil materials. Optional fabrics and cores are available for unusual chemical situations.
Reduces Drainage Space Requirements - Thickness requires much less space than aggregate drainage.
Predictable performance - Uniform properties and quality assure predictable drain performance.

When sheet drain is used with waterproofing:

Enhances waterproofing - Polymeric core is impervious to water. Water seepage to wall is minimized.
Protects waterproofing - Sheet drain also serves as a protection board during backfill and for the life of the structure
